Design to Improve Life

Too many “real world” problems of today and tomorrow suffer from badly-formulated and confusing attempted solutions derived from too many decision makers with conflicting values. Fortunately, through design thinking methodologies, it is possible to utilize collaborative approaches and create goal-oriented sustainable solutions to real-life challenges.

Through experiencing and learning creative processes developed by INDEX: Design to Improve Life®, session participants will acquire new techniques and tools to encourage interdisciplinary collaborations and effective problem-solving methods. Design is about taking action, considering, digging deeper and repeating. This workshop will lead participants through processes that include preparing, researching and analyzing, prototyping and testing and, eventually, to producing and final usage.

Presenters:
• Brian DeLevie, Co-Director Comcast Media & Technology Center; Associate Professor, Digital Design; Chair Department of Visual Arts, College of Arts & Media, University of Colorado Denver
