Submit Your Community Event for Denver Startup Week 2024
Denver Startup Week is back!
We are excited to officially announce the return of Denver Startup Week 2024! Your favorite event around entrepreneurship, innovation, and community is coming back September 17 - 19 for its thirteenth year with a couple of exciting changes.
A lot has changed in our post-COVID world and we want to make sure that Denver Startup Week can provide the best possible experience for our community with all of these new dynamics. We are introducing a streamlined three-day schedule, simpler tracks, and probably the biggest change…introducing Community Events.
Community Events
A huge strength of Denver Startup Week is that it is for the community, by the community. Streamlining the number of sessions for the event means there are fewer “official” slots, but we don’t want that to keep the community from putting together great content.
That’s why we are adding an entirely new element to Denver Startup Week: Community Events! Think of it like the cork board at your local coffee shop. If you have any awesome event ideas, submit them on the Denver Startup Week website. Whether meetups, coffee klatches, morning yoga or anything else, it’s all welcome. After a quick review to ensure submissions are within our guidelines (below), we’ll post a link to your event on the schedule.
The time, location, event support, and promotion are all up to you. We’ll make sure that the Denver Startup Week community knows to check out these events and find which ones they want to attend via our website schedule.
Here are the guidelines for Community Events:
- These sessions are truly “for the community, by the community”
- Organizers are responsible for securing their own budget, finding a venue, coordinating the logistics for the event and promoting the event
- Sessions must be somehow related to innovation and entrepreneurship
- Sessions must abide by DSW Code of Conduct
- No sales pitches or political or vulgar content
- DSW reserves right to decline session submissions
- Submissions close 1 month before DSW - August 16
- Organizers may use DSW toolkit for promotion
- Sessions will be listed on the DSW schedule, clearly designated as Community Events
Because this is new, here again is what Community Event organizers are responsible for and what Denver Startup Week will provide:
Community Event Organizers:
- Come up with event content and recruit speakers
- Find a venue
- Coordinate any necessary logistics
- Secure any necessary budget
- Promote your event
- Make sure event abides by DSW Code of Conduct
Denver Startup Week team:
- Approves appropriate submissions
- Lists approved Community Events on the Denver Startup Week schedule
- Allows Community Event Organizers to see registration numbers on the schedule
- Provide marketing for all DSW events
We can’t wait to see what you all come up with in September!
