Linear Function: The Interdependency of Technology and Performance Art as Immersive Therapy
The immersive dance production Linear/Function by Kayla Collymore and Donna Crump, pushes performance art into a more accessible future by way of audience participation, technology and art therapy. It creates a visceral experience for an audience member of any age by facilitating meditative practices, sensory play, expressive ideologies, and social interaction. Our presentation will share an inside look at how two independent artists collaborated to build a successful production from the ground up, strategies to bridge connections between artists and their audiences, as well as ideas on how to move your craft into a digital future.
