The Trademarks of Tiger King

The Netflix miniseries Tiger King introduced the world to Joe Exotic. On June 1, 2020, Joe's former zoo was awarded to Carole Baskin. Joe didn't lose his zoo because he was abusing animals, paying a hitman $3,000 to kill Carole, or serving expired Walmart meat to his customers. Joe lost his zoo because of trademark infringement. In this session, IP Attorney Chris Weiss will examine the trademark infringement lawsuit that led to a $1 million judgment against Joe Exotic. You'll learn about the elements of a trademark, how to protect your own rights, and ways to avoid getting sued.
