Outdoor Rec & Tech Mashup

Colorado Outdoor Recreation Office will hold a panel of leaders from Outdoor Recreation (ORec) companies that will relay problems that their companies face. In turn, a panel of notable local tech entrepreneurs will ask questions to help define the opportunity being presented, provide insights about possible approaches, and generate creative potential solutions.

What are our goals?
Our goals are to encourage the cross pollination of networks, present opportunities, and inspire innovation.

How do we accomplish our goals?
By assembling thought leaders with diverse backgrounds to focus their collective knowledge and experience, the ORec & Tech Mashup will encourage tech-oriented entrepreneurs and audience members to build products and companies around the ideas being discussed.

Why are we mashing-up networks?
One of the most important components of a robust ecosystem for entrepreneurs is a network. Resources for entrepreneurs and innovators include the knowledge and experience of other entrepreneurs and connections with mentors, leaders, investors, and talent via regularly held events and groups. Networks enable entrepreneurs to collaborate, refine their pitch, find investors, share information, and learn from other’s success and failures.

Two important industries in Colorado include outdoor recreation and technology. Each of these industries has help set Colorado apart as one of the strongest economies in the nation. Both industries face unique challenges and have developed unique strengths. The Orec & Tech Mashup provides an opportunity to connect each of these industries tremendous strengths with the other’s current challenges. At the ORec & Tech Mashup, a panel of business leaders from ORec companies will relay problems that their companies face. In turn, a panel of notable tech entrepreneurs will ask questions to help define the opportunity being presented, provide insights about possible approaches, and generate creative potential solutions.
