Guerilla Style: Hacks for Making Low-Cost Video Content

No money and need a video? Don’t hire a friend’s kid, or face rejection from expensive professionals. There are inexpensive and user-friendly tools to make the video yourself.

Professional media-makers share their no-cost and low-cost video hacks to make your own video content. You’ll learn: what equipment to use, where to get free stuff, where to spend your meager funds, where to post the final video, and why the video’s success hinges on your pre-planning.

This “boot camp” will teach you how to produce and distribute everything from fundraising to social media videos –guerrilla style!

Presenters:

Windy Borman:
Windy Borman, MST, is a multi-award- winning film Director and Producer, whose recent successes include the 10-time award-winning film, “The Eyes of Thailand” (narrated by Ashley Judd), and “The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia” (which premiered at Sundance and on HBO). Other credits include producing performances for Dr. Maya Angelou and Margaret Cho, directing “The Vagina Monologues”, and writing for Takepart.com and Indiewire: Women and Hollywood. From 2003-2005, Windy dedicated two years of her life to Teach For America, teaching middle school Drama and Dance in the South Bronx. In 2006 she opened DVA Productions to use her gift of storytelling to produce film and digital content that give a voice to the voiceless and promote peace, justice and equality. Victoria Garcia:
Victoria Garcia helps business owners skyrocket their sales by creating powerful marketing videos that engage a viewer’s attention and more importantly, convert that attention into a desired action. Victoria specializes in marketing and sales, and is passionate about providing massive value and building strong relationships, which ultimately lead to thriving partnerships. She is the founder of Colorado Proud Productions, a video marketing agency that specializes in providing premium videos to business owners paired with a highly strategic marketing plan to guarantee eyeballs on the videos. Victoria loves being a business owner as much as she loves being a mom and when she isn’t busy meeting clients, she’s busy meeting the never-ending demands of her kiddo. Diego Rodriguez:
Diego Rodriguez is an award-winning international filmmaker and actor, who has worked with National Geographic, Discovery Channel, BMW, Pepsi, and Verizon Wireless. He has a passion for social change and individual empowerment. His career began in Los Angeles in talent management, casting, and independent film financing. In addition, he has technical training in screenwriting, lighting, directing, video editing, and budgeting and scheduling feature films. Diego now specializes in creating stellar motion-picture content. Based in Denver, he works on national commercials, television programming and acclaimed independent films. He continues to freelance with production companies to create content for clients like: Spike TV, Travel Channel, Televisa Mexico, MundoFox, Hyundai, DeVita, and Miller Lite. http://iconfilmvideo.com/

Craig Spinks:
Craig Spinks is a video producer and owner of Quadrid Productions, which he founded in 1999. Quadrid Productions works with small local businesses who are passionate about their craft to produce videos that capture the essence of their business. Craig lives in the West Highlands area of Denver with his wife Sara, their daughter Ridley (named after Ridley Scott), and dog Quen (named after Quentin Tarantino). http://Quadrid.com
