Outdoor Recreation: Sustainability, Access and Opportunity

Outdoor recreation in Colorado generated $12.2 billion in economic impact in 2019, driving tourism, employment and permanent residency in the state. Companies with global and domestic brands, products and services for the outdoor industry are located all over Colorado. Residents and tourists alike use many of these products and services, and the outdoor lifestyle is a key deciding factor in choosing to attend the University of Denver for many students.

Our access to the outdoors in Colorado is second to none but this increases demand and taxes the natural resources and ecosystem. How do we maintain and protect the outdoors and balance access with conservation so that our natural environment is available for future generations to enjoy? This panel will focus on the critical topic of access and conservation in the outdoor recreation industry, as well as opportunities for entrepreneurs and innovators to solve these problems.
