All of these entrepreneurs have put wellness and community at the center of their business, and it is this strong foundation of lifting up other women that helps their businesses shine.
In this session, these talented leaders will share their insights and best practices to grow your startup and answer your questions about their startup journeys. .

Kendra Anderson, Owner, Bar Helix
Kendra Anderson is the owner + operator of Bar Helix, a modern, elevated bar + lounge
offering innovative cocktails, an extensive by-the-glass wine selection and decadent
small plates. Bar Helix is the culmination of Kendra’s 15+ -year journey to become immersed in a
lifestyle that revolves around exploring the very best of food and drink. In 2002 Kendra graduated from Denver’s Cook Street Culinary School professional chef program, which is where she began training to become a sommelier, attaining her
Advanced Sommelier certification in 2006. Kendra owned and operated flavor catering + event planning from 2003-2008, which she transitioned in 2011 to SwirlGirl Denver, a wine consulting and event management business. from 2010 to 2013, she authored a weekly column on wine + culture for the Denver Westword, and contributed to other publications including Colorado Homes + Lifestyles and Wine + Spirits. Bar Helix opened in Denver’s historic RiNo Arts District on October 3, 2017.
Angela Carlson, Co-founder, Reb3l Fitness
With a background as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and researcher, Angela is now the proud co-founder of REB3L. REB3L was founded in 2016 with the mission of empowering individuals to awaken their mental and physical strength through high intensity, powerful, community focused fitness. Angela stumbled into fitness when she turned 40 purely for weight loss. Unexpectedly, she found the community aspect of group fitness benefited not only her physical but, more importantly, her mental health. With her co-founders, they took the best of group fitness and built upon it to create REB3L. Leading with an online program and quickly processing to instructor trainings, Angela has been involved with all aspects of building a start up. From digital marketing, website creation, recurrent billing, community building and branding, it has been a labor of love with a steep learning curve. Being adaptable, listening and staying true to core values continue to be the key to success.
Emily Hines, Co-founder, Sweat Cosmetics
Emily is a CPA with a degree from the University of Denver, where she played Division I college soccer. In founding Sweat, Emily brought her financial acumen from the corporate accounting world to run Sweat's back end operations. Emily does her best to stay committed to her active lifestyle- whether that's squeezing in 5am yoga or running her baby stroller around the neighborhood- she relates to working women everywhere who are constantly on the go and need beauty products as strong as them.
Kyle Dyer, Kyle Dyer Storytelling
After a successful 20 years as a broadcast journalist in Denver, Kyle Dyer now refers to herself as a generative journalist. Kyle generates news to build community. Kyle is passionate about bringing people together, engaging and educating them though compelling video stories and when speaking before live audiences. Kyle has partnered with Commons on Champa for several years as the resident storyteller at Women on the Rise events. With Kyle Dyer Storytelling, Kyle partners with local businesses and individuals, groups and foundations to share video stories that capture their profound programs as well as the story behind "their why." Through deeply listening to people, Kyle is able to share stories that connect and unite us.
