Metro Denver boasts strong advanced manufacturing, aerospace, biosciences, electronics, energy, engineering and technology industries, while these industries struggle to identify a local, skilled, diverse talent pool. The core of this problem in begins in elementary school. Inequities in early learning opportunities fall squarely along socioeconomic lines. Girls and children of color from low-income communities need an equitable support structure to identify as capable in science and to enter the pipeline into the economic opportunities all around them. Denver Metro professionals can be part of the solution by serving as role models during elementary school Science & Engineering Fairs.
