Stop measuring usage, and start measuring value

When asked how they know whether a feature will be successful, people respond that they'll just measure how many people are using it. While usage can certainly be one element of a successful ship, at GitHub we've found that it's more important to define and measure what value you'll create for people.

There's a tendency to default to measuring usage because frankly, determining what to measure as a proxy for value is hard. In this talk, you'll learn what questions to ask to make your product development more value-driven. I'll provide real-world examples from my role as a product manager at GitHub to give you the tools you need to measure whether you're actually shipping useful products as opposed to just generating more clicks.
