Innovate & Make Space - Keepin' It Rural
Last year, Lamar Community College was given an Innovation Challenge Award from the Colorado Community College System in order to start a makerspace. This project is officially named the Innovate & Make Space -- Leveraging Tools, Technology, and Ideas to Grow People, Jobs and Communities. Lamar is located in rural SE Colorado, and because of this we face specific barriers (and successes) in launching our makerspace. Come along and take a tour of our space, meet some of our Master Volunteer Trainers, see what projects we are working on, and discover how we are making a difference not only in our the lives of our students, but in the rural community of Lamar as well.
