Tackling the world’s problems & making a profit

Colorado State University's Lyndsey Linke, a research scientist, has created an award-winning startup, SiVEC Biotechnologies, that tackles the huge problem of avian flu, a highly contagious disease of birds which can be devastating for poultry growers. Leslie Stone-Roy, a researcher in CSU's Dept. of Biomedical Sciences, was tapped to join Sapien LLC, which is developing a mouthpiece for people who are hearing impaired. Learn how Linke first came up with the idea and how she brought it to fruition, and how Stone-Roy's work in the lab is contributing to the development of new technologies.
