Denver Startup Week is thrilled to announce our third annual Equity Pitch Competition, taking place in-person on September 19. We encourage BIPOC entrepreneurs and founders from traditionally underrepresented groups to present their business concept to a panel of judges for the opportunity to win a cash prize, along with a spot in the DSW Pitch Competition Finals on Thursday, September 21. The Equity Pitch Competition is open to all Denver Metro based for-profit companies and non-profit organizations with less than $500,000 in outside funding.

DSW PITCH COMPETITION 

The eighth annual Denver Startup Week Pitch Competition will highlight and harness our city's entrepreneurial energy as part of Denver Startup Week. This year’s challenge will invite thousands of DSW community members to cast votes to determine the final six contenders. With a prize package consisting of cash, in-kind services and products, this pitch competition will showcase some of the most innovative and creative startups at an event built by and for the community!  The DSW Pitch Competition is open to all Denver Metro based for-profit companies and non-profit organizations with less than $2 million in outside funding.

ABOUT THE PITCH COMPETITIONS

The Denver Startup Week Pitch Competition offers you an opportunity to sell your big idea on a big stage. Submissions are entered by Denver startups looking for the opportunity to prove their idea’s worth, and each round of the competition will be judged by members of our community that have expertise in startup development, business, and growth. Be prepared to put your company's best foot forward, and go head to head with many other hungry entrepreneurs.

Once again, all applicants must submit a 90-second video (maximum) about your company with your application. This video should convey your mission, inspiration, and team dynamic. This is your moment to shine, and to get the community excited about your company and pitch. Check out this video if you need an example. The video does not have to be professionally produced - you can use a smartphone or laptop to record and upload your pitch!

A committee of judges will narrow the applicants down to 18 semi-finalists, who will present live for a closed audience of judges the week before DSW. Anyone who is officially registered on the Denver Startup Week website can also vote for their favorite pitch at this time. The final 6 winners of the Semi-final round, as well as the single winner of the Equity Pitch and the Youth Pitch, will be selected to pitch in the Finals on Thursday, September 21, during Denver Startup Week. If selected, attendance at the Semi-Finals as well as attendance in-person at Finals Night is required for applicants.

Although only one company can win the final prize of each competition, the Denver Startup Week Pitch Competitions offer exposure to a global and diverse audience, an introduction to the world of venture capital and angel investment, as well as a chance to build relationships as you get the framing of your ideas and dial your sales pitch.
