How Social Media and Online Engagement is Shaping our World: A Conversation with Dick Costolo and Rachel Carlson
We have leading experts coming together for this very special fireside chat. This conversation with Dick Costolo, moderated by Rachel Carlson, Co-Founder and CEO of Guild Education, will highlight and explore insights on the ever-changing technology industry. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Dick Costolo share about his experience as a digital entrepreneur, business executive, and yes - even his experience as an improvisational comedian. Dick’s experience, including serving as CEO of Twitter, is deep and varied. Join us as Dick shares a behind the scenes perspective about the future of social media and the Internet.
Dick Costolo served as the Chief Executive Officer at Twitter from 2010-2015 and is also known before for being one of the founders of FeedBurner, which would later become acquired by Google. In addition he is an investor and an advisor to a few start-up companies. Dick has been named as one of the 10 Most Influential U.S. Tech CEOs in Time magazine. He is a digital entrepreneur who has launched a series of highly successful ventures, but when he became CEO of Twitter in 2010, he realized he was helping run more than digital platform. Twitter had become a tool to collapse regimes, a tool that gave a powerful voice for the unempowered, and created a new way for businesses to connect and news to be reported. More than ever before, social media was forcing ambitious and significant changes to politics, business, ethics, governance, democracy and inclusion.
