What do Open Source and Community have to do with one another? Open Source projects wouldn’t exist without community.

Open source software is in existence because a community of people came together and wanted to build something awesome. The common misconception is that community is not important, that it’s a soft skill, that you don’t really need it to be successful. People often convolute community with meetups and conferences and then discount it. But, it is because of community we have these amazing tools for our use every day, making our jobs 100% easier.

This session will explore why it's important for your engineering team to be involved in the community and how you can do it.
