On Friday, January 20, 2017, the President Obama signed into law:H.R. 39, the “Tested Ability to Leverage Exceptional National Talent Act of 2017,” which codifies the Presidential Innovation Fellows Program to enable exceptional individuals with proven track records to serve time-limited appointments in executive agencies to address some of the Nation’s most significant challenges. The was the final official act of President Obama.

The program, created by the Obama administration in 2012 to build a more efficient, effective, and people-centered government, has received accolades across the political spectrum and private sector.

The PIF program continues to bring in highly and self motivated tech talent to work on touch government problems and focus on innovation.
