Innovation In A Global Pandemic – The United Kingdom and Colorado Rising to the Challenge
COVID-19 has forced all of us to re-examine the ways in which we work, whether it’s transitioning to virtual platforms for your day-to-day interactions or reconfiguring your business to respond to the needs of the pandemic. Join the UK Government and the City of Denver for a wide-ranging conversation with British and Colorado industries and institutions who have adapted their technologies to help fight COVID-19. We’ll hear from a variety of voices, including innovative British and Colorado companies involved in developing technology to track cases, researchers who are partnering with the US government on high performance computing capabilities, and from government officials who utilized these products and research to develop policy responses. We’ll discuss how these leaders quickly pivoted in the face of an international health crisis, what they learned, and how they might use these technologies to address future global challenges. Most importantly, we’ll also discuss opportunities for you to partner with leading UK institutions and companies driving this change to ensure you can be part of the global response going forward.
Panellists will include:
Eric Drummond, Co-Founder and Principal Advisor, Energize Colorado, and Member of the Governor's Emergency Council for Economic Stabilization and Growth
Sarah Tuneberg, CEO, Geospiza
Nigel Hutchinson, VP North America, Kainos
Rob Lubeck, Chief Growth Officer, BurstIQ
Dr Mark Mawson, Technical Programme Manager & Visual Computing Lead, The Hartree Centre (home to some of the UK's most advanced supercomputing, data and AI technologies)
