Join a experienced panel of diversity, equity and inclusion experts as they discuss how we as small businesses and startups can effectively approach topics ranging from unconscious bias to white privelage and how they shape hiring practices and workplace cultue. This panel will share how DEI efforts have gained ground (both bottom-up and top-down), as well as insights and lessons that the audience can glean from this open and honest conversations.

Karyn Lu - Sr. Director, Brand and Digital Experience & Former Chief Diversity Officer
Karyn proposed and stepped into a brand new, annually rotating Chief Diversity Officer role for FWI in 2018. She is also a founding member of Elevate Change, a coalition of forward-thinking Colorado-based companies dedicated to creating workplace cultures of inclusion and empowerment for all. Prior to FWI, Karyn spent nearly a decade at CNN, and with several startups & nonprofits, in roles ranging from UX to digital strategy to futurist.

Uzo Akotaobi - Vice President of Human Resources and Inclusion & Diversity for Prologis
Uzo leads strategic HR operations for North and South America in addition to leading the global Learning & Development team. Uzo is also responsible for developing global Inclusion & Diversity initiatives and was the first leader hired at Prologis who is focused on I&D.

Alicia Jessip – Women In Tech-Denver MeetUp Founder and Inclusion & Diversity Manager, TEKsystems
Alicia is an Inclusion & Diversity practitioner passionate about drawing parity in tech, creating space for meaningful learning experiences and the opportunity to show up as our best selves to influence and build cultures that serve all. She is the founder and organizer for the largest Women In Tech MeetUp in Denver which she invites you to join and stay up to date with technology disrupting conversations and events.

Yolánda L. Chase - Director, Work(place) Forward-Global Inclusion & Diversity for Arrow Electronics.
Yolánda joined the company in 2015 and is responsible for developing then driving inclusive workplace and employee experience strategies across the enterprise. She is also focused on ensuring that diversity and inclusion is positioned as a key business imperative as Chair of Arrow’s Global Inclusion & Diversity Council.
