How to rebuild 6 years of software, 6 Weeks at a time using DDD

Learn what did and didn't work when Choozle decided to rebuild its software codebase from scratch. You'll hear from members on our Product, Engineering and Client Experience team, along with the coach we brought in to help us along the way. Having reliability issues? Do releases take longer to QA than they do to program? Every rebuild is different, but hopefully our approach, using Domain Driven Design (DDD) will show other organizations how you can make a meaningful investment after a 6 week development cycle.

Key takeaways:

  • Different approaches to rebuilding software and Domain Driven Design
  • Adapting 6 Week Development Cycles (the Basecamp method)
  • Adjusting your Organizational Design, as people and needs change
  • Finding the balance between delivering immediate value and future investment

Panel includes members of Choozle's Engineering and Product Teams, along with our DDD Coach, Paul Rayner.

Paul Rayner is one of the world’s leading Domain-Driven Design (DDD) practitioners. He is a developer, instructor, coach and popular conference speaker. He co-founded DDD Denver and is founder and chairman of the Explore DDD Conference. His company Virtual Genius LLC, provides training and coaching in DDD for agile teams. Paul is from Perth, Australia, but chooses to live, work and play with his wife and two children, in Denver, Colorado. He (occasionally) blogs at thepaulrayner.com and tweets with an Australian accent at @ThePaulRayner.
