Access to Flexible Capital, Training, and Technical Assistance

Underserved small businesses, such as those owned by women, minorities, and individuals with lower incomes, encounter barriers to entry into the start-up world. This panel will highlight the work local organizations are doing to help underserved entrepreneurs gain access to capital, training, and technical assistance; shed light on some of the challenges these small businesses face; and provide recommendations on how to overcome these barriers. Fueling the discussion is a JPMorgan Chase Institute report, “Cash is King: Flows, Balances and Buffer Days,” which explores the financial lives of small business owners.

Moderator—Joe Coleman, Senior Vice President and Colorado Market Manager, Chase Business Banking

Panelists:
Monique Lovato, CEO/Executive Director, Mi Casa Resource Center
Alan Ramirez, Director of Lending, Colorado Enterprise Fund
Gwendolyn Bonilla, Market Manager and Senior Regional Loan Officer, Accion in Colorado
Brian Burke, Vice President of Business Lending, Community Reinvestment Fund, USA
