Recent trends show that many large companies have cut or altogether eliminated their internal R&D departments and are instead focusing on purchasing smaller companies as their primary means for acquiring innovation. The most attractive targets for acquisition are often the companies that have taken the right steps to build a comprehensive and flexible intellectual property portfolio. This presentation will therefore focus on how to build and manage an IP portfolio that attracts investment money and acquisition opportunities. The panel will include IP professionals from both acquiring companies and acquired companies so that participants will get valuable insight from both sides of the negotiation table.
