Leadership Spotlight Series

Last year’s Leadership Spotlight Series energized the lunch crowd at Basecamp. The series continues this year with sessions starting every day at noon, providing provide an intimate look at high-profile leaders in the startup community. Featuring interviews, group discussions and audience Q&A with founders and community leaders, these sessions will shed light on successes, failures and lessons learned.

12:00pm - Stacey Saggese, Co-Founder and Development Director, Rocky Mountain Micro Finance Institute

Stacey is co-founder and Development Director for the Denver based non-profit, Rocky Mountain MicroFinance Institute (RMMFI). Through the innovative Business Launch Boot Camp that marries in-depth business development with access to appropriate microloans, RMMFI has helped to launch 82 businesses in three years and has disbursed more than $150,000 in start-up capital to entrepreneurs who would otherwise go without access.

As Development Director, Stacey is responsible for fund and resource development and has helped grow RMMFI from having no budget in 2008 to a $500,000 budget in 2014 that supports 6 staff people and there’s rapid growth on the horizon. Stacey passionately believes in the power of small business to transform lives and communities and has experienced it first hand; as a small child, she ran around her grandfather’s 4th generation family owned produce company in The North End of Boston; later she helped her dad make salads at his restaurant on the Atlantic Ocean, and greeted customers at his small town baseball card store. Stacey was a member of the Access to & Coordination of Public Benefits & Non-Profit / Faith Based Assistance Sub-Committee of the Colorado State Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Task Force, graduated from the 2011 Colorado Nonprofit Leadership & Management Program through the Community Resource Center, the 2013 University of Denver’s Institute for Leaders in Development. Stacey is currently a Steering Committee member for Denver Shared Spaces.

12:30pm - Scott Geller, CEO, Chase Business Banking

Scott Geller is the Chief Executive Officer of Business Banking for JPMorgan Chase and a member of JPMorgan Chase’s Executive Committee. He is also a member of the JPMorgan Chase’s Consumer & Business Banking Executive Team. Scott has been with JPMorgan Chase & Co. for the past 27 years. His career includes leadership roles in Commercial Banking and the Investment Bank in a variety of risk and line positions. Prior to becoming CEO of Chase Business Banking in 2012, Scott served as the Chief Risk Officer for Risk Management/Commercial Banking and was a member of the Commercial Banking Management Committee. Previously, he ran the Middle Market Northeast segment, Financial Institutions and Hedge Fund businesses. Scott received his undergraduate degree from Binghamton University in central New York and his masters from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He is a native New Yorker. Scott and his wife Melanie are the parents of 13 year-old triplets.

1:00pm - Annelise Loevlie, Co-Founder and CEO, Icelantic Skis

Annelise Loevlie is a Colorado native, co-founder and CEO of Denver based Icelantic Skis and an avid outdoors women. In addition to captaining Icelantic skis, Annelise volunteers her time to various industry Boards and community initiatives including the Board of Directors for the Snowsports Industries of America and other various boards and councils concerned with active lifestyle, economic development, and women in leadership. Icelantic was recognized as one of Colorado's Companies to Watch in 2013 and was recently awarded the President's "E" Award for Outstanding Export recognition from the US Department of Commerce. In her free time, Annelise travels the world to ski, climb and explore, loves to eat from her garden, write and sit in the sun.
