The fast-growing field of Digital Health/Health IT—including mobile apps, electronic medical records, telehealth, big data & analytics, etc.—represents possibly the largest emerging industry for Colorado over the next decade and could ultimately rival other advanced industries like cleantech and bioscience as a key pillar for the state’s advanced industry economy.

Nationally, venture investment in digital health rose 87% in Q1 2014 over the same period in 2013, and already represents billions of dollars in investment nationally. Colorado is already a top 10 digital health hub nationally, with ambitions to be among the top 5 in coming years. In order to do, much needs to be done to align the resources available to digital health startups in our state.

In the past two years, leaders have engaged in numerous activities to coordinate the digital health ecosystem across the state of Colorado, including more than 60 identified digital health technology companies, major payers and providers, investors and technologists.

This panel discussion will feature an examination of the evolution of this digital health ecosystem and what needs to be done to elevate the state’s presence in this vital industry in coming years.
